West Georgia Auburn Club President’s Message

Dear Alumni, Students and Family and Friends of Auburn University,

It is my honor and pleasure to serve as your President for 2024-2026.  As I enter my tenure as President of the West Georgia Auburn Club, I would like to acknowledge all the generous financial support many of you have given to our club over the years.  You have made it possible to fund the largest scholarship endowment of any Auburn club nationwide, and also start a second scholarship for pharmacy and nursing students.

The WGAC is proud to offer the Charles D. Hudson Memorial Scholarship to one student each year in the Troup, Harris, and Meriwether County area.  The scholarship was established in 2007 and is now a full, four-year award which includes a waiver for out of state tuition.  What this means is that a recipient who remains eligible, will continue to receive the scholarship for four years and will be financially responsible for ONLY in-state tuition costs.

The WGAC is also proud to offer the newly established Libby Rigby Memorial / Bashinsky Ever Auburn Endowed Fund for the Harrison College of Pharmacy and for the College of Nursing.  It was established in May of 2022 to honor Libby Rigby and her contribution to pharmacy and nursing practices in the West Georgia area.  It is available annually to a deserving student attending the Auburn University Harrison College of Pharmacy (HCOP) and Auburn University College of Nursing (AUCON).

While raising money for, and providing scholarships are vitally important roles of our Auburn Club, promoting fellowship and fostering the Auburn Spirit is also paramount in our purpose and goals.  We are excited for what the future has in store for our club, and plan to again offer several special events in our community.  These will include, but are not limited to, the West Georgia Auburn Club’s Annual Scholarship Dinner featuring a special keynote speaker, Alumni Service Day projects in our community, watch parties, and our Bi-annual Chattahoochee split event in the fall.  As we begin our preparation for these events and others throughout our community, we’ll provide communication through this website, our newsletters, and social media.

We look forward to safely gathering and sharing our love for Auburn.

War Eagle,
